Ukachi Akalawu, a 35 year-old performer and administrator currently living in London, wishes to travel to Gambia. She will travel to study West African performing arts and the integral nature of the dance, storytelling and music. report

Sophie Alder, a 31 year-old dancer currently living in Leeds, wishes to travel to Seattle. She intends to complete a five-week intensive course in Skinner Releasing Technique and visit the Developmental Movement Centre. report

Robert Anderson, a 42 year-old performer and teacher currently living in London, wishes to travel to Pennsylvania, USA. He has been invited to co-curate C136, a ten-day intensive Contact Improvisation course. report

Cindy Claes, a 26 year-old performer, choreographer and teacher currently living in London, wishes to travel to Los Angeles. She will undertake Choreographic research into Krumping and train with artists who created this dance form. report

Tim Clarke, a 50 year-old artist currently living in Leicester, wishes to make twelve trips to Derby. He plans to visit Derby Dance Centre to draw a movement and dance group. report

Emma Cole, a 28 year-old dancer and teacher currently living in Taunton, Somerset wishes to travel toToronto. She has been accepted to undertake an intensive professional training course at the Arabesque Academy to study Middle Eastern Dance. report

Claudia da Silva, a 30 year-old dancer, choreographer and teacher currently living in Bristol, wishes to travel to Salvador da Bahia in Brazil. She will undertake further training with Vania Oliviera at the Escole de Danca de Fundacao Cultural do Estado do Pelourinho. report

Becky Edmunds, a 41 year-old dance artist and videographer currently living in West Sussex, wishes to travel to Sweden. She will undertake a screen dance research project at the invitation of Shoot, Swedish Dance for the Camera Festival. report

Lucy Evans, a 23 year-old dancer currently living in London, wishes to travel to La Paz in Bolivia. She will lead a community dance project for a disadvantaged youth group on behalf of ‘Creative Corners’. report

This scholarship has been awarded in memory of Vivien Gear, LUTSF secretary who died suddenly in 2007. The scholarship winner was recommended by the British Ballet Organisation with whom Vivien also worked.

Florent Gonthier, a 25 year-old performer, choreographer and teacher currently living in Leeds, wishes to travel to New York. He will attend Rock Steady Crew annual breakdance festival to develop personal skills. report

Wendy Houston, a 49 year-old performer, choreographer and teacher currently living in London, wishes to travel to Bassano del Grappa in Italy. She has been invited for a research residency by Operestate Festival Veneto in order to develop a new piece dealing with the notion of translation. report

Paul Jackson, a 48 year-old musician, dance administrator and author currently living in Hampshire, wishes to travel to Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. He will research Robert Cohan’s work in Israel in preparation for a biography. report

Cecilia Macfarlane, a 58 year-old lecturer and youth dance worker currently living in Oxford, wishes to travel to San Francisco. She will attend the summer programme at Tamalpa Institute, San Francisco to study Dance in the Landscape with Anna Halprin. report

Bonnie Meekums, a 55 year-old lecturer currently living in Tameside, wishes to travel to Amsterdam. She plans to attend the 4th Congress on Pyschomotricity to develop networks, attend lectures and workshops and present a paper. report

Emma Nelson, a 34 year-old teacher and performer of African dance currently living in Leamington Spa, wishes to travel to Senegal. She plans to train in traditional West African dances to expand her performance and teaching repertoire. (Unable to take up scholarship)

Wayne Parsons, a 26 year-old dancer with Diversions currently living in Cardiff wishes to travel to New York. He plans to take professional technique and repertoire classes in Graham to develop a solid grounding in this style, and to visit theatres, companies and individual artists. report

Michael Platt, a 43 year-old Advisory Teacher for Suffolk County Council, wishes to travel to Vancouver. He has been invited to stage a work at the international Signal and Noise Festival in Vancouver. (Unable to take up scholarship).

Wayne Sables, a 27 year-old choreographer and performer currently living in Doncaster, wishes to travel to NewYork. He has been invited to present a film ‘Inside out’ and a solo piece, and to be a guest speaker at the Performance Mix Festival. report

Janet Smith, 56 year-old Artistic Director of the Scottish Dance Theatre currently living in Dundee, wishes to travel to Los Angeles and San Francisco. She plans to explore the innovative and radical programme at the Department of World Arts and Cultures at UCLA and explore the professional dance scene. report

Gitta Wigro, a 32 year-old dance film maker currently living in London, wishes to travel to Sydney, Australia. She plans to attend Reeldance 2008 to learn about Australia’s development of a national creative infra-structure for dance film, see work, meet artists and participate in discussions and workshops. report

Helen Williams, a 29 year-old choreographer and researcher currently living in Newcastle upon Tyne, wishes to travel to Athens. She plans to attend the 22nd World Congress on Dance Research and present a lecture demonstration. report
