Anna Alvarez
Anna is a Dance Artist, Movement Director and Movement Tutor. Anna is travelling to Argentina to develop her work as a Tango artist, choreographer and theatre movement director. The trip will include working with/observing a number of Tango artists, researching the new genre of Tango Theatre and develop her use of expression corporal.

Lula Mehbrahtu
Lula will go to Ethiopia to study traditional dances and musical rhythms of the Habesha (Eritrean & Ethiopian) people. This will inform Lula’s work as a movement director and enable her to share these styles with the UK dance community.

Gillie Kleiman
Gillie is a freelance choreographer, researcher and cultural worker. She will visit Portland, Oregon, US, to visit acclaimed fat dance organisation, Body Home Fat Dance, undertake artistic exchange with founder KTKusmaul, meet the community, and learn about the wider Portland fat performance world, to return with knowledge about fat dance’s potentials for a UK context.

Lakshmi Srinavasan
Lakshmi is a freelance dance and Bharatanatyam artist & Artistic Director of Ankura School of Dance. Lakshmi will travel to Bangalore, India as part of her research for a dance piece based on the concept of the magnificent sculpture of Lord of Dance (Mahanata) with 18 arms from the 6th century cave temples of Badami (South India). The concept will include fresh script, music and newly embodied movements inspired by temple sculptures of India. Read more.

Jenni Wren
Jenni is Freelance Artist and Physical Therapist. Jenni’s trip includes attending the Celtic Colours Festival in Cape Bretton to immerse herself in celtic culture and traditional arts that originated from yet were almost lost to Scotland. An opportunity to witness, learn from and participate with world leading experts in the field of Celtic and Scottish traditional arts.

Petra Haller
Petra is a freelance dancer, tap dancer and musician. Petra will go to Jazzwise Conference in Bremen, Germany to represent herself as a tap-dancer. Jazzahead is the biggest international conference for Jazz music and a great platform to network, exchange ideas, listen to conferences and panel talks and watch showcases. Read more.

Kirsten Newell
Kirsten is a Bharatanatyam Artist. Kirsten’s project includes exploring classical Indian dance as yoga with the opportunity to train under Rekha Tandon in India and deepen understanding of Bharatanatyam as an integrated physical, mental and spiritual practice. Her unique approach allows dancers and yoga practitioners to understand the energy body map, meshing Odissi dance with yoga practice. Read more.

Rhys Dennis
Rhys is Artistic Director/ Choreographer of FUBUNATION. Rhys will travel to Brazil for the International Dance Festival of Araraquara to undertake a significant development period exploring Afro-brazilian and indigenous dance practice and their integration. He will take part in a number of workshops and experiences at the festival as well as shadow and receive mentoring from the founders. Read more.

Lindsey is an independent artist & Artistic Director of project led company Gravity & Levity. Lindsey will participate in ‘Mentoring the mentors’ a peer-to-peer exchange between 4 female aerial/vertical dance sector leaders in California & Ireland: Amelia Rudolph, ‘Bandaloop’ & Joanna Haigood AD, ‘Zaccho’ (CA), Chantal McCormick, ‘Fidget Feet’ (Ireland) & Lindsey Butcher (UK), comprising of creative mentoring & physical practice alongside designated coaching & action learning sessions & discussions. Thomas Kampe
Thomas is a freelance dance artist, pedagogue and scholar. This project seeks to collect materials about exiled Jewish Modern Dancer Tile Rössler (1907–1959) from archives in Dresden, Berlin & Tel Aviv. Rössler studied with Wigman and Palucca and directed the Palucca School between 1930 and 1933. She emigrated to Tel Aviv continuing to teach and to present solo dances. Read more.
